What Should I Do if I am Injured in an Accident?

• Seek Medical Attention. See a doctor or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Although you may feel “fine” now or think your injuries aren’t very serious, symptoms may appear days after the accident/injury.
• Take detailed notes of your injuries or have someone else do it for you.
  You (or someone that is with you) should gather as much information as possible from the accident scene such as:
  Taking pictures of the accident location, what caused the accident or injury, making sure to include stop signs and traffic lights, road hazards, weather conditions, if applicable.
• Photos of Your Injuries. Ask a friend to take pictures of your injuries. (Make sure all auto filters are off if using a cell phone)
• Photos of any damage. Don’t limit it to one or two shots. Take several pictures from every angle, making sure to snap close-ups and long distance shots.
• Get the names and contact information of any witnesses, and the police officer(s) who arrived on the scene. Make notes of conversations.
• Do not post anything on your social media accounts until you have spoken with an attorney.
